Palm -Size Fossil Resets Primates’ Clock, Scientists Say
On June 5, 2013 a research team in China declared a palm-size fossil is the earliest well-preserved primate fossil ever found, going back about 55 million years ago. It's dialing back the fossil record for primates an outstanding 8 million years! It included an almost complete skeleton, weighing less than an ounce and it belongs to a new species, being the earliest known ancestor of tarsiers.
This is the closest picture I could find of the one I described in my poem on page 274
Simple and stark, with rocks in sand Representing islands in the sea A way of life Zen Buddhism is for the samurai The lesson of discipline, focus, and overcoming fear ... The sand swirled around the old rocks reaching for the surface hoping one day they will emerge all is peaceful ... all is sound sitting below a tree under the blazing sun meditating enlightenment is their goal
Good poem. This garden must have been very hot to sit in. Mr.Chester
Who was Constantine the Great?
Constantine the Great, known in Latin as Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus Augustus, was born on Feb. 27, 272 A.D. in what is now known as Serbia. His father, Flavius Constantius, was a tolerant and politically skilled man. He was an officer in the Roman army in 272. His mother Helena was a Bithynian woman of low social standing. Constantine was the Roman Emperor from 306 to 337 A.D. He died on May 22, 337 at the age of 65 in Nicomedia. Why was Constantine the Great influential?
Constantine the Great was the founder of the Eastern Roman Empire, and the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity. In 313 he met with Licinius in Milan, where they developed the Edict of Milan, which was a letter that proclaimed religious freedom in the Roman Empire. Constantine built a new imperial residence at Byzantium, naming it New Rome. In his honor, the city was renamed Constantinoplis, or Constantinople in English, in 330. Constantine reunited the empire under one emperor. His military achievements include major victories over the Franks, Alamanni, Visigoths and Sarmatians. The Byzantine Empire considered Constantine its founder. Most Eastern Christian Churches consider him a saint.

My Life is a Day Train
My life is a day train
Life can be irritating
There is always that ONE family with the kids that scream
And scream
And scream
Life can be pleasant
All of your friends surrounding you
While you all laugh and drink cocoa when it's cold
Life can be weird
Your brother comes through the door with his scarf tied around his head like a ninja
And life can be hilarous!
Your friend runs full speed smack into the glass door
My life is a day train
What's a 'day train'? I like you poem, especailly the ninja brother, though I'm not sure it's an extended metaphor. Good job on Constantine. 4's for both. Mr. Chester
